Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sean J.S. Jourdan now lives and works in Denver, Colorado, where he relocated after obtaining his MFA in Film and Video at Columbia College Chicago. Before this, Jourdan studied chemical engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia and worked in that field after graduation. Soon after, Jourdan’s lifelong interest in storytelling and human nature led him to Washington University in St. Louis, where he obtained an MA in drama. His interests gradually moved from theater to film, where he worked as an award-winning screenwriter and director. Jourdan counts a number of prestigious honors among his accomplishments, including among many others: Horror Feature Screenplay Award – Austin Film Festival; Silver Hugo – Chicago International Film Festival; CINE Golden Eagle; Top 7 (Horror) – Slamdance Screenwriting Competition; Finalist (Horror) – Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition; Winner – Inroads Screenwriting Fellowship; Finalist – ScreenCraft Horror Screenplay Competition; and Best Screenplay – LGBTQ Toronto Film Festival.
Amazon and BIGSTAR Movies currently distribute Jourdan’s short films, which have also played at a number of film festivals worldwide (including the Raindance Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, Montréal World Film Festival, and others).
His award-winning debut feature film, TEDDY BOY, can be found on iTunes, Amazon, and Amazon Prime – and other streaming platforms.
Jourdan often teaches screenwriting and directing at the University of Colorado Denver.
